2019 Nevada Public Health Annual Conference

The statewide NPHA annual conference provides an opportunity for Nevada's public health professionals to gather together to discuss relevant public health issues, as well as a chance to network, meet, and stay connected with other professionals in Nevada. Continuing education credits are also available for several public health disciplines. The location of the NPHA annual conference alternates yearly between northern and southern Nevada, providing greater accessibility to participants.

Health care providers, clinicians, educators, epidemiologists and other researchers, administrators and program staff, and students representing all sectors of the public health system, including government, academia, non-profit organizations, and private business.
We are currently in the process of contacting organizations and exhibitors for support. Your support will raise your visibility and allow us to keep conference registration costs low, encouraging the participation of students and others with limited funds for conferences and travel.

We are pleased to offer the GSA rate of $114 (plus applicable taxes) for conference attendees. Guests may make hotel room reservations online or by calling 775-398-5400.
Room reservations must be made by September 2, 2019.
The Whitney Peak offers an airport shuttle each day from 8am - 10pm. The cost is $10 per person each way. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance by calling 775-98-5473.
Continuing Education Credit
CHES: Sponsored by the Nevada Public Health Association, a designated a provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. This program is designated for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) and/or Master Certified Health Education Specialists (MCHES) to receive up to 11.00 total Category I continuing education contact hours. Maximum advanced-level continuing education contact hours available are 0.
CPH: Approved for 11.00 CPH credits.
Dental: Pursuant to NAC 631.173.4E dentists and dental hygienists may claim 11.00 hours of continuing education credit for participation in this educational activity.
Nurses: The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine approves this program for 11.00 hours of nursing continuing education credit.
Pharmacists: The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is a provider of continuing education credit through the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy. This program is approved for 11.00 hours of continuing education credit for pharmacists.
Physicians: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine and the Nevada Public Health Association. The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education to physicians. The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 11.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
