2010 will be a pivotal year for public health both in Nevada and across the nation. It is the year we assess our progress in becoming a community of “Healthy People,” while we continue to respond to an unprecedented economic crisis that has challenged us to make lasting public health change with ever-dwindling resources.
As Nevada’s only statewide professional association representing all public health disciplines and sectors, the Nevada Public Health Association (NPHA) has the power to influence Nevada’s public health future as we enter this critical new decade.
You are an essential part of this effort, and I encourage you to begin your involvement with NPHA today! Become an NPHA member using our new online membership database; connect with others who share your passion for public health at a local Chapter meeting; and consider attending our Annual Conference in Las Vegas in September.
